Jo Gibbons elected RDI MASTER

Jo Gibbons Royal Designer of Industry Master

We’re pleased to announce that The Association of Royal Designers for Industry (RDI) has elected Mrs. Johanna Gibbons as its next Master. She will be the first landscape architect in the Faculty’s history to hold this esteemed position.

The title ‘Royal Designer for Industry’ is the UK’s highest accolade for designers, awarded to those who have achieved ‘sustained design excellence, work of aesthetic value and significant benefit to society’. The Faculty of Royal Designers’ mission is to inspire new generations of thinkers to design a better world.

“Mrs. Gibbons’ work exemplifies the essence of what it means to be a Royal Designer for Industry. She has spent decades demonstrating how innovative and ecological design can not only transform physical spaces but also create lasting social and environmental impact. Her leadership, vision and collaborative spirit will undoubtedly inspire and elevate the Association as it continues to champion design excellence in all its forms” says current Master Charlie Paton RDI

She will take on the prestigious role in November 2025.
